HungGar Kung Fu

Hung Ga (洪家), Hung Kuen (洪拳), or Hung Ga Kuen (洪家拳) is a southern Chinese martial art (Cantonese, to be more specific), which belongs to the southern shaolin styles and associated with the Cantonese folk hero Wong Fei Hung, who was a master of Hung Ga.

Hung Gar 5 Animals Kung Fu

The Hung Gar system incorporates the five animals of Shaolin – tiger, white crane, dragon, leopard, and snake. Each animal has a particular characteristic of defense and attack, which has been included within the Hung Gar system.

The Hung Gar system incorporates the five elements of Chinese Medicine – fire, earth, metal, water and wood. Each element has a particular characteristic of defense and attack, which has been included within the Hung Gar system. Many other Chinese martial arts styles incorporate these into their systems in a very similar way.

DJ Yap's HungGar KungFu Academy

The academy was established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1974 by DJ Yap as a branch of the Chiu Kau Family Style of Hung Gar.
